Whales and jazz...

I spent last week at my annual international symposium on the history of technology. This year it was hosted by the UVIC, Victoria, British Columbia's premiere university. It was great to visits with old friends, and it gave another opportunity for The Email Special to gather and play jazz.

Another highlight of the trip was a morning of whale watching. There are three pods of Orcas in the Vancouver and San Juan Islands area. They are not often in one spot, but on the Sunday we went out they were and we were treated to a lovely show by these "killer" whales. Thanks to my friend Peter for the photos...
